Pokhara, March 6: A religious event organized at Pumdikot of Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City received more than Rs 101 million in support from the locals and donors. The 11-day-long Maha Shiva Puran organized from 14-24 February to construct a giant Mahadev idol and other structures in Pumdikot received the commitment of such a huge amount including the land plots.
Organizing a news conference to release the financial details of the religious event here Sunday, coordinator of Mahayagya Main Organizing Committee Chandra Kanta Baral said that a total of Rs 101.24 million was collected in the religious function.
A huge Shiva idol, 108 Shivalinga, a meditation centre, a library and a memorial park would be constructed at the premises.
Coordinator Baral said that social workers, political figures, local people and other visitors too contributed with positive attitudes to collect the huge amount of assets.
It is noted that the family of coordinator Baral supported Rs 10 million plus in the Mahayagya.
Of the collected amount, Rs 7.17 million was spent for the entire management works of the religious event. RSS
