LLRC member Singh resigns

Kathmandu, March 6: Member of the local level restructuring commission (LLRC), Sunil Ranjan Singh, has resigned from the post, accusing the government of violating the constitutional rights of the commission, on Monday.
He submitted the resignation to the Prime Minister through the Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development.

The resignation letter he submitted to the PM mentioned that he resigned from the post on a moral ground after he felt that he was not the member of the constitutional LLRC but just the member of the recommendation commission, as the government decided to increase the number of local units to 744 despite having the term of LLRC.
Moreover, he said although the LLRC submitted its report provisioning 119 local units, there was no progress at all on determining the number and border of special area, protected or reserved area because the report was not implemented by the government. RSS
